Welcome to Nkuluze
Nkuluze is referred to as the “Royal Treasury” responsible for taking care of the Kingship. It’s a huge organization within Buganda Kingdom, headed by the Royal Treasurer “Omuwanika w’Enkuluze” (Royal Treasurer). The Royal Treasurer or “Omuwanika w’Enkuluze” is appointed in this office by Ssaabasajja Kabaka and he is only accountable to him.
After the 1966 crisis in Buganda, almost all initiatives, undertakings and offices were forcefully closed by the regime including Nkuluze because the King was no longer on the throne (Nnamulondo). However, after the liberation war of 1986, initiatives to reestablish the Kingdom of Buganda started, and so a committee was created to devise means on how the Kingdom would be managed.
